Work in Australia, support home
The Pacific Australia Labour Mobility (PALM) Scheme gives people from nine Pacific Island countries and Timor-Leste the chance to work in Australia. With the PALM Scheme, you can work in Australia’s aged-care industry. This helps you to earn money to send back home to support your village and family. You can also learn new skills and gain experience to take back with you when you return home.
Who can apply?
The labour sending unit (LSU) in your country will choose works to send to PALM Scheme employers in Australia for their consideration. Here’s the criteria you need to meet to qualify:
How to apply for the PALM Scheme
If you're from the Pacific Islands or Timor-Leste and looking to join the PALM Scheme, get in touch with the government Labour Sending Unit (LSU) in your country. You can find contact details for the LSU in each country here.
If you are selected for a job in Australia under the PALM Scheme, your employer will cover the cost of your flights and some other expenses to help you get to Australia. After you start working, you will gradually pay back these costs from your wages.
